Hiking and nordic walking
Enjoy the extensive and well-signposted network of hiking trails in the northern Black Forest. The area offers both easy and demanding tours - for the sporty hiker and the casual hiker.
For Mountainbiker
The Black Forest is one of the best mountain biking areas in Europe. In the region around Freudenstadt, there are 94 exciting and varied MTB tours to choose from. Rapid single trails excite mountain bikers, freeriders and downhillers alike. At the Hotel Sonnenschein we have a lockable bike storage room especially for you with tools and everything mountain bikers need.
For Bikers
The Black Forest offers wonderful routes for motorcyclists. You can park your bike in our hotel without any problems, and small repairs can also be carried out here if necessary.
For horseriding
There are a total of 30 varied bridle paths to choose from in the Freudenstadt region. There is a riding stables in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Sonnenschein. Riding lessons for children and adults are offered here. The "Icelandic Horse Stud Schlosswaldhof" is only five kilometers from the hotel.
Activities during the winter season
In the entire northern Black Forest area you will find numerous ski lifts, toboggan runs, well-groomed winter hiking trails and groomed cross-country ski trails. Rediscover nature in winter for example on a guided snowshoe hike. With the "Schwarzwald Plus Card", many things are completely free of charge.
For Golfer
Five large golf courses in the region invite you to tee off:

Explore the area around your vacation. Here you can spend a varied day in any weather. For example in Freudenstadt, only 12 kilometers away, with over 100 fountains, is the largest market square in Germany. The sculpture trail, interesting museums and a diverse cultural program awaits you thre. Or experience the area around Baiersbronn with the historic Panoramabähnle.
Visit the Alpirsbach monastery or the university city of Freiburg with its medieval old town, only 100 kilometers away. Strasbourg with its famous cathedral is only 70 kilometers away. You can reach Hohenzollern Castle in less than an hour. With the "Schwarzwald Plus Card" you have free entry to many regional attractions.
